Nannette Kamien, CFP®, RICP®, MBA
I originally started Inspiration Financial Planning in Illinois in 2015 - with no experience, as a career-changer, with two little kids at home. I had no credentials either (I was half-way through the CFP® coursework). But I knew that it was what I was meant to do.
Life had other plans for me, though. Over the next 6 years, I moved across the country to California, my mom passed away, I went through a very challenging financial situation, a pandemic happened, I got divorced, and I moved again - 5 times in 4 years. So I shut down my firm in 2019 during all of this and I went to work for others.
But the dream never died.
In 2024, I decided it was time to try again and in 2025, Inspiration Financial Planning was re-launched!
I’m not your typical financial advisor or financial planner. You’ll never see me in a suit, and I don’t own a fancy desk. I came to this career later in life because I was sick of the corporate hamster wheel.
I have always done work that allows me to combine my love of numbers, technology, and people. Owning my financial planning firm is truly a dream come true for me.
I LOVE what I do. I thrive with the opportunity to dive into the numbers while also discussing your fears and concerns. I don’t come from money - my parents got divorced when I was 7 and my mom went back to school to become a teacher. We were on welfare for a while.
My past experiences allow me to approach each client relationship with empathy and curiosity. Everyone has their own unique financial story and background that has brought them to where they are today. The past does not define them, but it does inform our work together. We can work together to create the present and future of your dreams.
My kids are now teenagers and you’ll find me enjoying a book at my home or the beach in Carlsbad, CA or out watching my oldest play softball.
